This song is about how everything changes over time and how we need embrace even the worst of it. The title "New Direction" was thought up as a joke against the pop group "One Direction" (I think they suck). This song is also the only song besides "Enraged" that was recorded off of my Peavey Rockmaster electric guitar. This song is dedicated to Mary Iversen, Regina Lassiter, Dominick Zupo, Rachel Carpenter, John Stavola, Glenn Lane, and Jazmine Gutierrez because to be honest, I wouldn't be where I am right now without them :)
lyrics
LYRICS:
Resented to the edge of my start
Drop the curtain on the past
Cleaning up all my old scars
Done with being the outcast
I’m on my way...
Changing the ways
Just to say
Take more than a day
Sure it’s been said before
Forget all and even more
It’s all in store
I’m going in a new direction
(Leave my past behind)
Changing in a new direction
(No more of the hate)
This was my prediction
(Lose these mistakes)
(I’m heading down this road)
Off in a new direction
I'm on my way...
Not as much hate
But I’m gone at this rate
I need to open the gate
Walk in a new direction
Time to leave expulsion
Lowering down to extinction
I’m going in a new direction
(Leave my past behind)
Changing in a new direction
(No more of the hate)
This was my prediction
(Lose these mistakes)
(I’m heading down this road)
Off in a new direction
